Hey guys,
This has probably been asked before, but what is your favorite movie? My all time favorite is Gladiator. I love it and I'm still a huge fanatic of it.

I this is funny: I was going to ask the same question today. Ps today is Fri the 13!
My favourite would have to be "Office Space"
Giancarlo, You might like "Thirteen Days" I watched it last night. It takes place during the early 60's (62 to be exact) It involves plenty of politics, The beginnigs of war, and disagreements within the White House. NOt a bad show.

Junior. ;) Anybody ever seen that one? :D
Seriously, though, I don't think I have a favorite movie. The Matrix sucked... I mean, the CG was total ----. They didn't even bother to make it look a little more realistic.

The Matrix Awesome story line.

Pink Floyd's The Wall

Rather than trying to choose one of my own, I'll just rate those already mentioned.
The piles are:
[Less than Utter Crap,] Utter Crap, Crap, Good, Excelent/Fantasic
Gladiator
Poorly executed combination of Sparticus, Ben Hurr, and a healthy dose of false history. I'd put it in my crap pile.
Card Captor Sakura
Never seen it, can't say anything about it. Into the crap pile, pending evaluation (everything starts as crap).
Traffic
Never seen it, ditto about crap.
Enemy at the Gate
I think I've seen it but can't exactly remember what it was about... or maybe I'm thinking of a different movie with a similar title.
The Matrix
Too many plot holes to mention, into the utter crap pile.
Freddy Got Fingered
I'll not dignify that with response.
Tomb Raider
The only movie in existance that can make Pearl Harbor look like a masterpeice.
Fast and Furious (plot sucked but damn, look at those cars, and look at that girl)
Never seen it, but from your eloquent synopsis of the movie, utter crap.
The Godfather
Which one? The first or second one? Good choice.
The Seven Samurai
Never seen it, but since it has "samurai" in the title it will reside in the utter crap pile until evaluated.
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
Refuse to see it, will remain in the utter crap pile for all of eternity.
Das Boot
Excellent choice.
Cinema Paradiso
Never seen it, crap until I do.
Full Metal Jacket
Fantastic choice, though if I'd have to choose one Kubrickan war movie it would be Paths of Glory, not Full Metal Jacket, but still, excellent choice.
Trainspotting
Excellent choice.
Pulp Fiction
Never seen it, but I've heard many good things, so instead of the crap pile it will remain in limbo.
Office Space
Funny little movie, but not much staying power. Crap, but to be fair, I don't usually rate comedies on the same scale I rate serious movies.
Forest Gump
More crap, but not utter crap.
Saving Private Ryan
Unbridled Spielberg crap at its worst.
Fail Safe
I'll substitute Dr. Strangelove or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb in place of the movie title you mentioned and rate it excellent. Both movies were based on the novel Red Alert, but where Fail Safe is serious, Dr. Strangelove is a satire on how utterly stupid the cold war really was.
Jurassic Park
Utter crap.
Scary Movie
I will say utter crap, though the true answer is too horrible for you to contemplate.
Natural Born Killers
Good choice.
Taxi Driver
Never seen it.
Scarface
Never seen it.
The Doors
Never seen it.
A Clockwork Orange
Fantastic choice, Kubrick's second best.
Pink Floyd's The Wall
Never seen it.
Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas
Excellent choice, Gilliam's a great visual director.

Why? How can you rate a movie not having seen it?

I disagree. That show was utter trash. Depp is a decent actor, but the movie makes me want to vomit.

Why? How can you rate a movie not having seen it?It was quite simple, it only took 74 key strokes. :)
As for why, two reasons:
A) The title. Can't judge a book by its cover, but no one ever said anything about its title.
B) The previews. Although previews can be misleading, but in this case, I doubt they are.

The Matrix was even worse. Looks "faker" than CTHD... but I'm not saying that CTHD is a better movie. I thought it sucked.

When I was watching the matrix, and a special effect scene came up, I wasn't thinking about how real or fake it was or how they did it... I was too caught up in the plot. The opposite happened in CTHD.

The matrix is just a plain good movie. Also Pokémon the movie was good :p.

The special effects is not what I like about CTHD, even though some fighting scenes are spectacular for instance those in the trees and the first long one. And not because you beleive in it, but because it's art.
I do like the classic magical unreal plot and the absolutely amazing photography shot in China. And the fact that it's very different from any other martial arts movies, which I usually don't like at all.

FINAL FANTASY!!!
I just went and saw FF yesterday and I must say that was a waste of 4.50 bucks on me 30 million bucks on Sony. I mean, the movie has the best animation ever seen. But the movie itself could be a whole lot better. Give 30 million bucks to me and I could produce a better movie than them.
Oh, and forgot to mention The Crow as one of my favorites (Although the 2 sequels kinda sucked)

The crow was cool, then they did the cheap tv show based on it.

*groan* I'm fighting a losing battle... *lol* Seems like there are lots of Matrix loving fans here...
I agree, the plot of The Matrix was interesting, I'm just saying that it was disappointing to see such awful animation (CG)... therefore, IMO, The Matrix sucked. CTHD was boring as hell, I didn't like it, but the animation was nice, smooth, graceful, looked more natural - but I'm not saying that it looks completely realistic. Still it's way better than what I saw in The Matrix.

I appreciated CTHD becuase it was a little more realistic than most martial arts movies, and the actors actually knew their stuff. It is not often that a chinese movie gets the publicity and popularity overseas that it did. Overall it was decent.
Maybe i am more able to appreciate it as i have been practicing martial arts for awhile.
