Well, you all know about the Spaceports situation it seems.

I've gone through this board and a couple of searches to find something suitable for my needs, but alas...

Here's what I need.
75mb
ftp
I'm pretty loose on the add situation--no popups or frames, except something like geocities's ads would be tolerable
ssi
and it'd be great to have cgi, but...I can sacrifice it if I have to

it needs to also allow most file extensions, like .zip and .mp3

that's it, I don't really think I'm asking for much, but when you need a lot of space your options are limited, if I can't find a suitable free host I might just pay Spaceports what they want :p

why do I need that much space? my site acts as a database for information and documentation--i have 1200 2 color gifs that take up 1/3rd of the space I ask for, and the sheer ammount of pages themselves....it adds up
the .zip and .mp3 files are few and not very large, and no--its not for warez or a song archive

any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I checked out Mystigall before I posted--but on their site they advertise 50MB. Do you upgrade your space once the 50 is used up? Or is it just a recent change?

I also signed up for a Marhost account, but like someone else said, who knows how long they'll be around....

galaxy-cities.com don't let you use many file types. Also they give you 10mb, but you can ask for more. Then when you use up that 10mb you have to ask for more. Kinda annoying to have to do that.

With my account they never put a limit on it. I posted a music video site on it. I stoped updating it awhile ago though. I had like 600mb on it!!

Could someone enlighten me on this: what exactly is this "Spaceports situation"? The host seems to be still around, and everything seems normal... Did I miss something?

They've started using these ad frames that suck upon maximum assage.
