I just discovered BoardNation.com, they offer up to 10 fully featured hosted YaBB's for each member!!!! With added mods like polls and full customization!

It is offered to have no banners and unlimited disk space. The site looks very professional, and once you sign up and validate your account, you can create a new message board and access it literally within 5 seconds!

It is also pretty fast too, and there are not many boards hosted yet so the support is very good. :)

http://www.boardnation.com  Check it out!!

uhh, Did you say no banner and ulimited disk space. Is their unlimited bandwith also? :D Ulimited doesn't work.

Of course it will be fast and will have good support if the number of users is less! Wait for 2-3 weeks and then let's see what kind of support you get.

Nah, BoardNation will be changing to 2mb = no banners, and 10mb = user-placeable ads (or popups) for free users. :) This is still under consideration, though.

The support may get slower, but there will always be some form of support, even if it does eventuate to volounteers.

I dont see how unlimited for a message board is really a bad thing or how it can slow it down, most big sites have enough money to buy a UltimateBB anyways. Why would they impose a 2 meg limit on a message board?

Big message boards such as this one that carries quite a lot of traffic and has a lot of posts can make the megabytes add up, let alone the bandwidth of Perl.

Don't know much about this stuff, so tell me, how does this compare to ez board

like I said boards such as this one, wouldn't be using a free provider, because they can afford real ones. BoardNation is a million times better than EZBoard.

YaBB is a huge resource hog, they'd better have a dedicated server or their host is gonna kick them off.

Money for a Messageboard is one thing. Money for bandwidth is another thing :) Do you have 10 servers to run the hosts?

EzBoard is definitely worse than Boardnation. Boardnation at least does not have any pop-up or annoying ads, unlike ezBoard! Also, I don't like ezBoard's arrogant people, who intentionally leave out information to make them look like the best service ever. I know people at ezBoard who don't even know another message board service BESIDES ezBoard (except Aimoo because I brought it up). They are essentially censoring their users to the outside world. :(

Unfortunately, Boardnation will very likely never enable new sign-ups again. End of story.

How come the sign-ups are disabled?

Actually ezboard has alot of ads, otherwise I like ezboard better than Yabb.

I actually don't like the layouts of YaBB, Burning Board, and Ikonboard; YaBB because it is not very flexible and the other two because their layout is confusing. OpenBB has been reportedly buggy, and that pretty mucn sums up all of the scripts.

Sorry, I meant "free scripts".

OpenBB was buggy, I think they have rolled many of them out now though ;)

If it weren't for all the damn pop-up ads ezboard has, I actually like them better than boardnation, ezboard just looks nicer to me. Of course, they can't compare to the fre phpBB.

EzBoard is really disorganized. They don't even have dynamic post counts/signatures, and that really gets on my nerves. Their support is very brushy, and I don't like their layout is so old-fashioned.

The free phpBB is pretty bad. I like their boards a whole lot! But they're not even decent enough to get a host for their Support Board that I can access... :(

Looks like boardnation couldnt handle the traffic, guess ezboard is better.
