My computer got hacked. 80GB of files deleted. Except for a few folders. I haven't touch it yet as I know there are recovery programs out there. Any help? I haven't done any backup so far.

So you havent given a recovery program a try yet? It depends on HOW the files were deleted. I doubt they were "rewritten" so you should be able to recover all of them as long as you know what you are doing. If you need more PC help please feel free to contact me.

...just don't install any recovery software (or anything else) on that hard drive.

ok, I didnt touch it at all. Your tutorial is half way. LOL. what shud i do next? I'm using GetDataBack, stupid. It requires payment

I think you may never be able to recover them

here's a lesson:

always back up your important files into cds

as I still can recall that I lost around 40GB of pix and documents in that night...

no I didn't recover them

but have you tried: http://www.pctools.com/file-recover/download/ ?

I have never tried it and don't know if it works, and it says the trial version cannot recover files

you should download it and try it first

then if it really finds your files

then maybe you should buy it or something...
