I have 2 PCs in my home, 1 with windows 2003 and 2nd one with XP professional.
They are connected through LAN and a HUB.
Both are under the same workgroup "MSHOME".
Now, here is my problem, I formatted the 2nd PC and reinstalled XP in it. And now the file sharing is not working while it was working fine before the format, am I missing something?
PS: I am not good at networking, my brother had setup the network last time but since he is out of station I am helpless.... :(
Please guide me...

Just use XP's built-in wizard. That's why it's there.

Hmm. Well, make sure that Windows file sharing is enabled in the network properties.
Also, from my experience networking XP, both machines will have to have the same user account (i.e. enable the guest account on both machines).

And make sure you don't have a firewall blocking access.

Done, but in vain :(

I've often found that the easiest way to share files in a Windows LAN is to setup a FTP server (between two machines) or DirectConnect (>two machines). It may sound odd, but after more than a few LAN parties it became obvious that it's not worthwhile using 20 minutes to setup the Windows file sharing, when setting up FTP or DC takes about three. There are many FTP servers and hubsofts out there which require almost no configuration.
