first of all I biuld comps for the fun of it so i can tell you with experience go to www.newegg.com Fastest shipping, lowest prices, the best. Secondly it might be cheaper to buy a drive and then get an external enclosure for it. That way you get high quality drives inside (never go an offbrand hd.) Thirdly. Where are you hosting your anime. I've always wanted to do that :D

I'd stay with the WD (Western Digital), Seagate and Maxtor brands.

I'd suggest WD or Seagate. Maxtor provides good value but since 60% of my Maxtors have broken for reasons unknown, I can't really recommend them. Last drive I bought was a Seagate 7200.8 with a five year guarantee. Btw. if you want a silent drive Seagate is the best way to go, WD caviars are a bit noisy.

*edit galore*

I can't seem to get it right the first time...

I only have good things to say about Maxtor's external drives. WD and LaCie also get my vote.

My HITACHI's doing fine, and my WD is starting to make a bit of noise...I better keep the dust away :p

Just make sure you're getting the right interface.

Hey,
Here is a great source that I buy all of my personal hardware from and I've NEVER had any problems.

WD INTERNAL Hard Drives with 8MB cache (Good thing) between $50 - $179 the last one is big as the external one you selected previously.

WD EXTERNAL Hard Drives with 8MB cache

I personally think that the one you've selected is a very good hard drive. I personally have one (just came in mail a few days ago) and its working perfectly, i've even installed a 2nd OS on it in parallel with my Windows and its still functioning perfectly!
