Well, are there any hosts that have CGI/PERL, SSI, and a large amount of space, that allows you to maybe host one or two sites off your own site as subdomains? My budget is $125/year.

You might want to check the new offers forum here. You may find someone with an offer/plan to suit you.
Another suggestion...try http://www.webhostdir.com and do a search based on requirement, and see what results.

I think a lot of hosts can give you what you want. The question is how much space and above all how much bandwidth do you need?

I think a better way to decide the "value" of a plan would be by the bandwidth, not the disk space.
Also, if by subdomains you mean http://www.yourdomain.com/~username/, I'm sure a lot of webhosts, including MS, offer those for no additional charge. You would probably be able to get those for less money than "real" virtual subdomains.
Then you could also consider setting up subdomain redirection where user.yourdomain.com --> yourdomain.com/user. For that you only need to have wildcards enabled and then setup a script to do the redirection.

Why would he mean subdirectories? A couple of subdomains isn't that much to ask for.

I believe he was looking for ways to host customers or friends and I was simply offering another alternative.
Subdomains may not be much to ask for, but there are cheaper ways of doing it... I really don't see what's wrong with a little extra knowledge :D

Yea, Michael-MS is rite... in a way. I want to be able to host others sites (just 1 or 2) off of my site without paying too much... but I'd prefer if I had subdomains.
As for space... I need quite a bit, I'm not exactly sure. I'm trying to get as much as is possible on with my budget. For bandwidth... I would need anywhere from 5-10 GB of bandwidth.
And I would need CGI, SSI, PHP, and MySQL too.
