inoverse July 15th, 2001, 18:47 I would say up to about 50 GB/month
inoverse July 15th, 2001, 19:48 Also be sure to check out the HOT Summer Special! Sign up for 6 months and get 6 months free. So basically $36 for the first year!
meow July 15th, 2001, 20:05 $36/y for 50GIG of bandwidth a month? Do you have your own power plant or something. :p
LastActionHero July 15th, 2001, 22:00 Wow 50 GB bandwith for $6 a month? Where do you get your bandwith from? If you mind answering me in public please PM me.
niv July 15th, 2001, 22:35 and this is a cobalt raq, no?
meow July 15th, 2001, 22:44 RACKSHACK.NET. The standard deal is $99 and 150GB/month.

It doesn't? We have MySQL installed and it works fine on our Raq4's. I've also installed it on a couple of Raq3's...
LastActionHero July 16th, 2001, 04:21 You can easily install anything on a raq from the cobalt webiste using those pkg(?) files.
Technics July 16th, 2001, 04:27 You'll learn in time that you can never install anything easily on an RAQ.

Why is that? Can you please elaborate?
Michael-MS July 16th, 2001, 12:18 Hmmmm. Technics, where did you learn that? :D
http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com/
Installing MySQL to a Raq4 takes about 1 minute. If you can copy and paste a URL, you can install it. :)
And there's even documentation on how to change the default password... :p

That is what i meant.
Robert July 16th, 2001, 12:39 Dim8 operates off a Cobalt and installing software that is in the .pkg format is very easy; installing software that has do be done in SSH can cause havock and headaches. But other than, RaQs are great servers and since I'm very experienced in them now, I have to say that if anyone wants to start a webhosting company, a cobalt would probably be the easiest way to start off..
Rackshack now provides RaQ4is with 175GB of transfer for $99 dollars..not 150GB of transfer.
LastActionHero July 17th, 2001, 05:22 I thought they said they will upgrade to 200 GB. And their one time $40 upgrade to 256 MB that's super too. Guess 4webspace.com has to do something about it or they will lose all their customers to rackshack.
Technics July 22nd, 2001, 07:57 tera-byte did a RAM Special. They give you an upgrade to 512mb ram for $100 or $150 depending on your current amount of ram. This is a one time fee. Saving you a lot of money.
Ivo July 27th, 2001, 10:54 yo, inoverse
Do i need to pay with a credit card???
inoverse July 29th, 2001, 09:06 No, we accept PayPal, checks, and money orders.
WingZero August 2nd, 2001, 21:58 Has anyone tried inoverse? Are they good, I'm thinking of signing up with them.....
niv August 3rd, 2001, 11:38 According one of inoverse's earlier posts, you get 50 GB transfer monthly, it's not too expensive so it's worth a shot.
Michael-MS August 3rd, 2001, 13:08 According to their webpage they have limits on the bandwidth per month now.
http://www.inoverse.com/hosting.html
meow August 3rd, 2001, 13:15 A little difference of 45GB. :D
WingZero August 3rd, 2001, 13:49 yeah...thats a big difference...
How does the premium plan sound?
15 gig for 10 bucks/month......
inoverse August 6th, 2001, 10:27 Well we had to impose bandwidth limits because of some of our potential clients such as the people viewing these posts. For some reason potential clients think that an unmonitored bandwidth limit is something to be leary of. However, we have 175 GB bandwidth. We currently host 58 sites and use around 12 GB. You can only host around 200-250 sites on a RaQ and we'll probably only host around 100-125 on the RaQ, so a lot of our bandwidth will be going to waste. We did impose the bandwidth limits just so it gives people a guideline, we tried to make them fairly large.
Chicken August 6th, 2001, 22:29 I haven't looked through the whole thread recently but based on this last post you made, you probably get 300 now. In case you hadn't noticed.
