Whats up with the new 512k limit? I thought it was 5 meg per file max.

50megs is probably thinking that you'll actually pay to upgrade your service.... I know theres like several free providers that have this stupid option "banner be gone" which takes the banners off and gives you like a 2.5 meg file limit, if you pay more you get more space and a 10 meg file limit and so forth I believe.

But 50 megs of space with a 512k file limit is worthless... and when you can get space with unlimited filesize elsewhere, why mess with 50 megs?

Where can you get 50 megs of space with unlimited file size limit? With FTP? and a decent speed server?

Web1000... 50 megs, no file size limits, unlimited bandwith... they allow pornography, but not warez I believe.
In fact, when you sign up be sure to select non adult advertising. If you don't, you'll get these ads saying "Come see me strip on webcam" and stuff.

Hey, they host domains too. :) Not much features though. How bad is the banner?

The banners there at web1000 are a bit annoying if you have your sound turned up... like for my movie site I'm storing movies there. When I signed up for the service, I forgot to change the ad selection to non-adult ads. So the adult ad is a little banner that talks, telling you that if you press a letter on the keyboard you'll see me strip for you live!

So I signed up for another account, this time carefully choosing non adult advertising, and its the same type, it even sounds like the same lady doing the voices, except the deals are all like online casino deals, ie sign up now and get 20 bucks free.

They aren't really that bad because all it is a banner, its better than like theglobe.com which puts a huge banner/search box that takes up like 1/4 of the screen...
