Unix is not only cheaper, it is more reliable than Windoze. I also agree, Unix is a must.

I prefer an use unix myself for my servers, but if you wasnt to code in ASP then win 2000 is the way to go :)

I believe there is a program to allow ASP for Nix though now too. It's very expensive though and most hosts don't have it on their basic plans.

NT: slower, crashes more often, but you get ASP and you can use a larger variety of scripting programs.
*NIX: crashes rarely, more features than NT (OS-wise), and you can get open-source software for it, but you can't get some things that you can get with NT.

*nix is free if you download it (my 56k will go caca coo coo if i were to download 650 MB of data :rolleyes:, so it is easier for me to buy it from a retailer)

less stable/verry stable (crashes rearly)
Both support the same languages, but ASP is better on win
