http://visionaryhost.com/fraud.txt

This is the detailed chat-log.

I have been suspended by paypal....

I have talked it out with the other victim

Can you please give suggestions on what I should do?
Should I sue Venom-hosting?

Will I get sued by paypal?
Even though I had talked this out with the victim and he knows I was also the victim and he won't charge me in any legal actions.

But will Paypal?

And can anyone please tell me where to report this?

I reported to Unauthorized Use of Paypal Account and File A Claim

Please post comments and similar cases!

That sick bastard, tried to bribe me with sucky cpanel AMD 2400+ Server Hosting....

He lies to everyone, he said he has a Dual xeon when he has only AMD 2400+.

He only has 512 MB RAM when he says he have 2 GB RAM

Not cool....

I don't think you could get in trouble for that. That is definatly very serious though, he can get busted. Too bad a chat dialogue is all the proof you have. Hard to prosecute with something so easily tampered. Not saying you did, I believe you, I'm just making a point.

Just wow....Here's some advice on picking a host:

-You know you shouldn't go with a host with an e-mail like "vemonthakid@freee-mailprovider.com".
-If your host greets you by saying "yo", run.
-If your host can't spell "favor" correctly, do not buy from them.
-if ur host typz liek dis, dunt go wit dem

And an ending tip: Don't do hosts favors regarding money. :( But I guess you already learned that. Sorry to hear about this...Honestly, I don't know if you're going to get sued by paypal. But, I think you should really, really do something about this guy. He's a douchebag.

OMG. Have you tried calling (https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_contact-phone) Paypal?

James
September 28th, 2005, 05:51
The problem in this case is that you need have evidence that you were deceived.

It's in some sense confusing from the chat script to see exactly what happened, but I presume that:

1. Venom has hacked into one of his customer's account (probably got to know a password and tried it on that client's paypal account and hopped "YAY")

2. Used you to receive some funds from it by bribing you a small amount of money each time - thinking that if you get into trouble, he won't (YAY).

3. Then you quickly received a suspension

Is this correct?

The fact is however, that you were not the person doing the "hacking" and you did not know what was happening.

However this could have serious implications if you are not careful. This won't get you "sued" but probably a investigation will be launched.

Phone paypal.

Regards.

James

Paypal CAN sue people, not that they would sue you. Over some big frauds I'm sure they would have lawyers to deal with it.

So Visionary Host is "innocent here?"

What crap. Period.

It's not called Playpal.com, as far as I'm concerned its TWO Kiddie Hosts that will go down, and should Be BANNED from everywhere.

Have a nice day. Post Reported (FYI)

Sued, i doubt it very much there whole system is computerised, they would have contacted you by phone and sent a letter from a solicitor by now, they would hav terminated your account not suspended, they are waiting for you to explain, and they way you do it is contact them via email, the email will probably be computer genirated back, also think about the ammount of fraud that does actually go on through paypal, £10000...... gets lost, i would contact them explaining and seee what goes from there, and also have a domain check on venom hosting and contact the small courts and sort the matter out, if you have a case worth of i think its £35 you can take it to small courts i would do that and he will hopefully get a hefty fine, you are the victim dont class yourself as the thief!

Sorry, but I don't think the FBI is going to investigate a theft of...what was it...$130 or so.

Although, it is kind of humourous. "Here, I'll send you some money from this account, then you keep some and send it over to this other account."

Was the victim in the states? Paypal certainly is. You're not exempt from laws, because the victim agrees with you. In all reality, and you're not exempt from U.S. Laws when the crime mainly happened in the U.S.

I haven't really been following this thread, but I do have a comment on this last post. The way I understand it, a person only has to comply with the laws of their own country (or the country they are in at the time of the questionable action). For example, if someone in a country with little to no ties with America breaches a US law on foreign soil they can't do anything about it unless they have some sort of agreement with the foreign government. Obviously they couldn't travel to the US again, but unless they are involved in terrorism, I doubt anyone would have the time or energy to hunt down a teenaged scam artist in a different country. :-)

No, Trust me, being raised by two Federal Agents, (in this exact industry of finance) and doing 5 years myself with the same Treasury Dept... if this was a larger sum of money in question... we'd go to Timbuktu, to pick him up, put on trial, and then request the home country to handle it on their own.

Fortunately it's only 300 dollars and not 3 Million. But yes, absolutely, on a larger scale, it's a bad situation. I'm saying this with two parents at 35 years experience and my 5 years.

Mental Note: Paypal, the hosting companies in question, and the victim, most likely reside in the US, which puts it, in theory on US Soil... just because the typing behind the keyboard happened in another country.... the crime committed, was committed in the US. Welcome to Computer Crimes (Which we now have our own separate FBI Division for) and International Treasury Crimes which the IRS would work with the FBI to investigate and resolve... The last two groups of people you'd EVER want looking at you.

VisionaryHost don't worry man, nothing will happen to you. If he does try to do anything or paypal does, tell them the truth record all this chat and that message you have saved. This way, you have proof. And he doesn't eh? + I doubt that paypal will sue you for somthin this silly, if he did it to hundreds of people and took lots of money, then its somthing to be worried about and nothing should happen.

Don't be worried mate ;)

It's mainly because some people refuse to pay a reasonable pricing for their hosting. If you want budget hosting you run a very high risk of being ripped off.

I was not referring to hosting only. People get ripped off daily by someone . Everyone gets scammed i guess. I had my moments when i was ripped off by ebay so i stopped buying from ebay although 3 products our of 4 i bought were excellent the 4th one never arrived.

So i think if we all do better research before investing we all can avoid getting scammed. I hope none of u guys from here get ideas of scamming me please :tongue2: :tongue2:

scamming is for fat run down slow moving people. Normally they sit all day waiting for prey, then when they find it that waddle to there fridge {only excerise in the day} and come back with a tub of icecream, and get paid for it..

Stupid eh?
