With Li Ion batteries, some places on the web say they can be charged at any point. The life doesn't depend on how much/often its used, but on things like storage temp etc. Also they have a limited life even if never used, 3-4yrs?
But in product manuals, they often come with :300 charge cycles: etc
Which one is right? oldman2

Unless the site is a official site of the company that makes the batteries believe the manual.

You can charge Li-Ion batteries at any point without instantly destroying them. However, this greatly shortens their lifetime. I've destroyed more than a few laptop batteries that way. Now days, I remove the battery when I’m using the computer with AC power, and only recharge the battery when it's empty.
The conclusion is: the manual is right, as usual ;)
