Hi,
I've just finished this new site:
ImgFree.net (http://www.imgfree.net)
It's all been custom developed, using C#, MSSQL, IISRewrite, and sits on my dedicated server.
Any thoughts on what I'm missing or how it can be improved are welcome.
Most free image hosts run on free scripts, which I thought looked pretty dull, so I've tried to make it look good and function better than the rest.
I've tried to give it more "user value" as well by adding membership with photo albums.
Thanks
Ben

Looks very nice, although I see one problem. When I went there I just saw a boat-load of gray words. May be offputting unless the user know what your site is about.

i quite like how you've incorperated ad-sense...
it might not get you as many clicks as its not very noticable.. but because of this it keeps your site nice and clean

Liquid:
I think probably 95% of traffic won't look outside the "quick upload" box, the other 5% might not ever have used an image uploading site before, so I figure put the description there on the off chance they need it.
I'll cut it down a bit so it's not so wordy.
RustyNut:
The #1 thing I could see wrong with so many free image hosts was the horrible way they presented the uploads. I don't expect to make much, but I expect to be liked more. :)

Hi, just a little opinion, it would be nice to add a little FAQ section, or maybe add the information regards the bandwidth because so far I do see you can upload unlimit of photos, but what about the bandwidth?
Thanks :)

Looks pretty good. Not to shabby.

I added an FAQ skiyuki.
Because the images are resized, I don't expect bandwidth to become a concern until it gets 300,000+ page views a day. I know that feature is going to annoy some people, especially when their 5mb forum signatures become 30kb jpegs, but it's *very* efficient.

Hi guys,
I've completed a new feature for ImgFree, one that's being very well received.
You can now integrate it on your forums (tested with phpbb, ipb, smf).
This gives your users the ability to upload images without really leaving your forum. It creates an additional button with the post options, 'UPLOAD IMAGE' which launches a pop-up with the upload form.
Other new features specific to the forum integration include
- thumbnails
- the option to not resize
- additional code generated including displaying the thumb and linking to the large
There's an official phpBB mod in development for it, and you can get instructions for implementing it here: http://www.imgfree.net/integrate
Enjoy :)
