Does anyone know how fast ValubleHost.Com (http://www.valuablehost.com/) is? There pricing seems to good to be true. How do they have such a good deal? Are they as good as they seem? Also can I use my domain with them? Also GoDaddy.Com (http://www.godaddy.com/) seems to have to low a price. What is the catch with them?
Thanks, MistrX (alex@cortelyou.com)

The owner of Valuablehost posts here... they look good.

They are very fast... The freedom team website will be moving there (we are waiting on the domain to resolve) and while FTPing, here on a 56k, I got upload speeds of 10-20k. That is the fastest I have seen.
I plan on signing up with them in the near future.

i assume you mean 1.25-2.5 kB/sec efficiency because 10 kB/sec efficiency on a 56 (37)kb/sec modem is impossible ;)

hmm... in the little box on my FTP client..., it went from 10k/sec to 20k/sec... somewhere between the two. That's all I know.

i would think that would be either:
1) a calculation error
2) they mean kbit, not kByte

You are right... it displays in Kbits... Still... it's faster than any other one I have used.

This is in regards to your GODADDY question: I have registered 3 domains through them and have had no problems or catches, except for the last registration. I got an email from OEMMail.com asking me to sign my new domain up for there services. I wasnt to happy with that, but that was the only email and I do still like and would use godaddy again.

ValuableHost is a great company. You know how they say that the way you act is a reflection on how your parents act? Well that's the same for ValuableHost in my opinion. They act in a very mature, professional, well experienced webhosting company all the time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Never once have I seen any negative comments towards them or any problems with poor service. They do post here and they are very kind and generous and respectful. ValuableHost is... well it's a very valuable host. I have no doubt in my mind that anyone would be disappointed in ValuableHost.
As far as Godaddy.com, I register my domains through them as well and have not had any problems. They do charge for phone support (think it's 6.50 per call), but I've emailed them numerous times and they've always responded quickly and professional. I have yet to see a cheper domain registration service than them and that is a reliable one.
You've selected one of the best webhosting companies as well as one of the best domain registration services.
If I didn't run a company myself, I would definantely signup with Valuablehost.com.
If there are any questions about my post, please contact me.

There was a simlar post made by valuable host about dim8. Do you use valuablehost currently? Have you used them in the past?
Many of you guys are trying to be nice to eachother, (which I understand and it is nice but...), and recommend each other's services even though you've never used them. I'm talking about some of the hosts here.
While it is good to see host trying to help out other hosts, it isn't helpful and people with real experiences should be the ones to post recommendations. I think there are enough of them here that we don't need posts like, "Hey Bob of Bob's Hosting posts here, and he's a nice guy..."
Anyway, just be consious of what you recommend.

Well with my reccomendation about dim8, i am not wrong there, they can just search the forums over @ wht and here to see the truth, many other people, mostly clients of dim8 have reccomended dim8 and spoken well about them.

yes, I agree.. It can be very misleading... I've noticed that most of the threads in here lately have hosts recommending each other almost every thread and yes they are sneaking in some self advertisement for themselves. Most common ones are valuablehost, servus, and dim8. I'd rather hear from the clients..... if they're ever around..

lol, too true!!

I disagree with you,
i have hardly reccomended any of them and if so with good reason, please provide proof before posting anything.

Well I didn't really mean to single you out, but in my opinion I feel that there are more hosts recommending each other out than there are clients. What i'm really trying to say is that I'd like to hear more experiences from clients in general.
Just a couple of recent threads:

Your correct Chicken and Stu.
But as webhosting companies, we must also help each other out. But I meant everything I said, and not expecting anything in return. It would be great to hear from their clients, which would have the exact same, and more, positive comments as me. I'm not a client, but I've talked with Valuablehost and I've seen great efforts on their part to be good. Same goes for Below10host, servus.ws, and many many more.
I won't reply to any further posts to prevent this thread from getting 5 pages long. =)
PM me or Email me if you have any quesitons. (I enabeld my PMs. lol)

As a client of valuablehost.com, I can highly recommend them. I've been a client for about 3 weeks. So far, everything has been great: no downtime at all, fast speeds, and tech support just responded to an email request within 2 minutes. I've sent them several requests since I signed up and they have replied promptly to all of them. I have two domains with them. If anyone would like to check them out, just reply here or PM me.

Actually, this is what I'm trying to avoid.

The difference being that one suggestion is credible and the other would be a, 'helping each other out' recommendation. If you were looking for hosting, would you want to come to a board and have suggestions from hosts for their buddies, or suggestions from people about hosts they've used?
Like I said, you guys are playing nice and there isn't the cut throat attitude I've seen on other boards (which is refreshing). Just try to keep what I said in mind and offer more suggestions based upon experience if possible.

Well, I'm thinking about getting hosting there too. Only one question:
Recently I had to install phpnuke for someone. But FTP didn't work, now my queston is: Does FTP work again?

If that question is to me, ftp does work but it isnt ftp.domain.com but simply domain.com
