I am going to leave these forums for a while. They have gotten way out of hand. They are completly different from the old style Matt Script type board. So hopefully when i come back things will be better. I might stop in every once in a while to see if is ok to come back, but i have enjoyed the 2-3 years i have been on this board. Oh and Peo this is my last off topic thread for a while so please don't delete it. Well i will see yah in 6 months or soo.

thanks. The whole thing with all these posts being deleted and the whole atmosphere of this place has changed to a negative attitude. Such as those long threads fighting with yupappa i believe. Plus just the entire way this board flows now. I will be back later. And thanks for the comment on my avatar.

I think we dont notice the difference because we have been here the whole time. I believe Epgs. There probably is a difference. A difference brought on by new posters, new ideas, and other stuff.

i used to be on these boards a lot a couple of years ago like in 98 and 99 shortly after peo got this domain. while there were fewer posters and no one had to register there were still a good number of fights. i especially remember some long ones in the paid hosting forum. and that was when there were only 2 boards free and paid hosting forums. times change, ppl come and go the board is never the same one day to next and i think thats is whats great about it. if well all agreed on everything and never had arguments or debates or whatever this place would be pretty boring. diversity keeps this place intresting.

No one cares. I've been here since late 98. You don't get special privleges. No need to talk about it like it's a big achievment :rolleyes:.

I agree.. this place has changed. I can't wait for the retro version to be finished. I might become a regular there.

I'm not trying to complain, but it seems like maybe Peo sold out a bit? I know online advertising has gone downhill, but back in the day there was 1 banner, 2 buttons, and that's it. Now there are a dozen different text links, popups, extra ads, and other changes that aren't necessarily improvements. It's a great place, but you might have noticed I post a lot less than I used to. I've thought of leaving several times because the attitude has changed a lot. I think Peo, Todd, and Chicken really moderate a little bit too harshly. I'm a mod in Ad Revenue and I haven't had to edit a post yet this year, I don't think. Once in awhile this place reminds me of a preschool.. "He said the F word, wash his mouth with soap and delete all his posts."

I know that's a bit of an exaggeration, but I just liked it better back when this site was a bit simpler.

I'm just going to comment on what NC_TOM said about the ads since your memory is not correct.

We had banner ads at the top of all pages within the forums until very recently. Even on the old forums. Now there's just two or three text links at the bottom of the forum and a banner in the webhosting forum. That's all. It isn't free to run a site like this you know...

We listen to feedback about what has been said here about the moderators. I don't feel it's a fair description of the moderators work, but still I understand what you are saying. Some want us to delete more posts, some want us to leave all personal attacks as it is.

Without moderators there would be chaos here within days. Trust me, it happened everytime in the old days when I was away for a few days and was the only moderator. Once I even had to close the forum down completely. Remember? I'm very happy to get help from the other moderators and in my humble opinion they do a great job.
