Like Dusty said (in the Site Feedback forum), I think it'd actually be fun to start an Oct2000 team :) So how many members are there here who joined the forum since Oct 2000?

What about if you didn't notice the link to the new forums for a week, and kept posting on the old ones? ;)

Believe it or not, I came to the old forums here in 98, somewhere around December or November. I disappeared for a while, like six-eight months and came back.

Oh shut up, it's a good idea even if there is no point to it. You're an Octer, you can join too!
Stu:
They used to be (both the WebBBS and wwwboard ones), in fact I posted a few messages on them. The last time I checked, though, only the message indexes of the wwwboards were up and the WebBBS boards have been disabled. So sad.
I'll make the team website and the team message board. The board will be called "RetroFWS" and will look like what this place used to (I've pieced it together mostly using pages I've saved in the past and stuff I've dug up here, if anyone sees something that's not right tell me and I'll fix it). I'll post the link once it's done.
What does it take to join? It must say "Oct 2000" under your name. You don't need to include anything in your signatature stating you're a member since you're already stating it. More will be described on the site.
Wow, teams are fun... and here I thought they were just stupidity.

What if we're in a team but we're Oct 2000 people. What if another team sees us wearing their colors and then they take it as an insult and we end up having a gang war over it!? Oh ----! I'm in the freedom team and I have the RetroFWS colors on! ----!
Got to run. Fast. Really fast.

Yes, I have been dropping by these boards since 1998 as well. I was never really an active poster but I browsed the boards quite often, looking for new hosts with all the goodies.. I remember a lot of the old posters too..
About the teams, what role do the existing teams play on these forums? I only see people who promote teams in their sigs. Are the teams doing something together on these boards? Is these some secret activity going on?
BTW, besides the Freedom team, what other teams are there?

Is these some secret activity going on? Well, the only point of belonging to a team, as far as I can tell, is the fact that you belong to a team. Kinda pointless, but what isn't? Doing something together for the boards? Not sure, I'm not a member of what appears to be the only active team here (the Freedom Team), but I don't think they're doing much. Secret activity? I won't tell you till you give me the handshake :)
BTW, besides the Freedom team, what other teams are there? That's the only one I know of... there was the short-lived Young Webmasters Team, but I think it dried up.
Does it mather if I'm in another team? It's not against the Oct2000 team to belong to both it and another team, can't speak for the other team though.
Still working on the team site, it will be at http://www.oct2000.f2s.com/

I'm in. I know of some other people at this board who might deserve to be "honorary" members as they were around back in '98 but didn't register here in October.

I wish posts would stop disappearing - can't you just edit / censor them? (with a brief reason if poss)

polestar, we try to do that. In some cases we don't since we have better things to do than edit abusive personal attacks and explain every time to repeat abusers that personal attacks are not allowed. But thanks for your feedback and we'll try to do it more often.
Again, if you don't agree with someones opinion, that's ok, but if you attack someone personaly that's not ok.
People do delete their own messages aswell. We can't do anything about that or explain it when it happens... ;)
