There's a website called Wolf Web (http://wolfweb.com). It's been around since about 1997, 1998, or perhaps even before that. I'm not going into depth about its history because that's irrelevant as to what I need help on. As you can see on Wolf Web the owner, Monty (alias: Wolf on the boards) is using a forum powered by phpbb now. Unfortuantely, a lot of the original users detest the new forum and want the old one back.
This is the old forum, dug up using Interactive Archive Wayback Machine (http://web.archive.org/): old example #1 (http://web.archive.org/web/20020604063809/www.wolfweb.com/cgibin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=lobby), old example #2 (http://web.archive.org/web/20020613175837/www.wolfweb.com/cgibin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=list&forum=DCForumID1&conf=DCConfID1), old example #3 (http://web.archive.org/web/20020616213752/www.wolfweb.com/cgibin/dcforum/dcboard.cgi?az=search_form&s_forum=DCForumID1).
Now I bet about now you're wondering what this has to do with website hosting, HTML, CSS, or anything along those lines. Well, what I was wondering is what kind of board that was. I tried to do my research but I came up empty handed. It says it's powered by Wolf Web Solutions, but when I click the link on the old boards it comes up with this (http://www.wolfweb.com.au/noflash-web-design.shtml), but I managed to find a newer version which is this (http://www.wolfweb.com.au/noflash-web-design.shtml). I'm beginning to wonder whether or not the old board even exists anymore or if the host (is that the correct term? I'm rather stupid when it comes to this stuff) is shut down or something along those lines? Or if the site was built from scratch? That all excused, I was wondering (if it is built from scratch) if I could build one myself? I can get web space and all that jazz, but I'm just absolutely confused when it comes to the forum itself. I can't figure out what's going on.
Can anyone help me out here?
PS. Sorry if I posted this in the wrong forum.
