How much should I be able to make on ads with 5000 hits/month

It all depends on what kind of ads you put. And whether your visitors click on the ads or not.

If you put CPM ads assuming 2000 page views.

You will make anywhere between $1-$5 per month.

You can make more depending on what kind of ads you put. Just based on hits the amount earned cannot be calculated.

5k page views/month won't get you much. I have around 6k-7k and I make currently 1 dollar or two. It was about 20 times that last year. But last year I have 15k a month.

Selling 5,000 banner imrpessions is like selling one candy bar at a store. Sure it's a good candy bar but why would someone com eall the way to your store to buy the only and only product youhave. I've worked with many sites that sereve anywhere from1 5 to 30 million banners a month acorss all types of systems.

Back a few years ago, these sites made tens of thousands a day and a few of them still do. But, for the most part, revenue has dropped from thousands a day to thousands a week or month. A good with with a fe wmillion impressions, hgih demographics and a smart webmaster can still make some deceent money with the right affiliates, popups and what not but most of the smaller sites are just out of luck.

Anyways, I'm still dissapointed. I wanted to make some dough. OH well.
