What do you consider a lot of SQL usage?
A1Owner
October 22nd, 2005, 01:20
99% Sql usage is conisidered lot of sql usage we had user whose sql usage would jump to 99% when there were more than 2 users online his site. So we suspended his account.
On a dual xeon even 99% sql usage is too much to take server offline .

2 users on a site cause 99% usage of your SQL?

Doesn't matter. If I do top I still get the same thing at the top of the screen. if you're referring to the "CPU STATES" stuff, then yes, that is a percentage, but it's NOT the same thing as server load.

That was amusing, however the real issue here is, if you had a site where two users crippled your MySql, why not *just* disable that particular script, alert your customer of it, and then maybe HELP them figure out why it happened. Could've just been a script bug that an upgrade would've fixed.
You suspended the whole account on them?

ok let me explain clearly .
by users online i meant visitors browsing the customers site . we suspended his account told him to fix than again after he said yeah its ok now, so his account gets enabled but had still same issue . So had to suspend his account . So if someone has such heavy sql ( his was 100mb sql only) and cpu intensive , i doubt we or infact anyone will offer hosting to such users , its better for them to get dedicated servers.
