vB 3.5 has been out for a while now (stable version). I was just wondering why this forum hasnt updated yet? Its supposed to be a lot better.

Peo has intentions to be upgrading to 3.5. However, plans never go the way they should. Todd recently was ill so that was called off and then we had that 6 hr of downtime that pushed the upgrade back a little more to make sure everything was ok. When you're dealing with a forum of this size (and larger), upgrading to a new version is no walk in the park. It takes man hours to backup the existing MySQL Database and files. Then do the upgrade, then verify everything is working perfect.
Peo will tune in soon. I hope the upgrade comes soon, as I heard it as some good inline moderation tools.

The inline moderation tools take more time than the current mod tools :( The only time I see it being useful is when you need to split a few posts from a large thread.

really? Shoot! :cry2: Maybe some better moderation tools are a little more stable and Peo will add them on.

Hey, I've always wondered, and this seems like a good time to ask. Does Todd get paid to do the things he does here, or is it "all in good fun"? :p

Whether he does or not, I doubt you will get an answer ;)
Robert I'll take a look around all the settings later (on a vB3.5) and see if I can find some tricks to make things more moderator friendly. The more advanced they get, the longer it takes to do things.

Usually, "if it aint broke dont fix it" unless there are security fixes of course and like Jan said there arent many excitingly new things in the 3.5 vB except for a few mod tools and the plugin system in my opinion.

I think Todd should get paid. Will that help warrant an answer? :p

Oh...I've gotten my answer :devious2:Of course.
If they don't willingly say "no", then we know he's getting something... it's just a matter of how much. ;)

I personally don't like vB 3.5. Although I won't be using them, the moderating panels are harder to manuever through. The user control panel is simpler and easier to use in a non-3.5 version.
