Just recieved this email , things are looking up for us f2s customers!!

This is the freedom2surf short term TODO list:

Erratic behaviour sending out emails from the free webservers.

This seems to be due to peaks of high load from websites used as spamming accounts. Anti-spamming and optimised mail delivery from webservers in progress.


Some people have been reporting Frontpage publishing problems.

This appears due to the new Frontpage 2002 extensions installed and extended http headers. We believe a fix has been installed. If you are still having Frontpage publishing problems and you have carefully read the Frontpage FAQ please email chris@freedom2surf.net with full details - thanks.


FTP server connections hang - after a while all ftp connections are used

This is due to a renaming bug from within FTP. We are currently investigating two possible fixes for this.


Disk space quota not appearing for some websites.

Problem found. Fix scehduled.


Webalizer statistics slow

Currently all the webalizer processing is centralised. A new distributed processing scheme is being implemented.


The disussion forums not being available is causing a huge amount of of support emails to freedom2surf.

New discussion forum software being integrated. If you would like to become a forum moderator please email support@freedom2surf.net with your details.

Yeah, mine haven't changed since February on the account I check. In 2 years and 5 or 6 accounts I've never seen working stats.

This is what they sent out 2 month ago. I love them - but efficient they are not.:rolleyes: But let's hope! :)

i waited about 2 weeks at one of F2S's page nearly exactly like that, 'cept the "target completion date" was a "couple of days" (and they didnt supply a date that that page was made, even =P)

The date will change. They are great - they just can't be trusted. ;)

I don't care how long it takes , existing users need to hav problems fixed before new users are taken on!

Sure. But if they just fixed a couple of minor things like not promising too much too soon and compiled a decent FAQ they would be THE greatest host EVER. Now they are great but irritating. :)

Latest Linux kernel patches appear to have this problem finally fixed! If anyone is still experiencing FTP hangs please email support@freedom2surf.net

yeah, they are doing spring cleaning, my server is already been affected, it is bloody fast! fastest I have ever seen it, others are still slow :( oh well, it willl be great once they have finished.

Some users find it difficult to clear the webcache after uploading a new website

A simpler mechanism for users to refresh the webcaches is under investigation.

SENDMAIL NOW FIXED!!!

Improved email handling and abuse systems installed. Webserver initiated emails should now be delivered extremely quickly.

changed till monday now , but they have done a LOT of work this week , re designed product information section on their website and have installed brand new database servers!

But I forgot most of them... its cool to register some f2s names ya know! just like registering real .com's to make profit in the future.
