nope,
I'm very new to unix and stuff, so I'm not so sure what's acceptable to do and not...don't get me wrong, I'm not gonna make anyone mad, take any sites down, steal email that's not mine, or any unlawful activity, I'm currently learning how, and I will not do it in the future either, I'd abide by the golden rule, don't do anything to a computer you wouldn't want done to yours...trust me, its nothing bad...hehe it reall sounds like its gonna be bad with the way I'm typing so much and explaining, but oh well, think what you want

http://freeshell.org gives you 20mb space, but unless you send them a donation you have no access to networking commands or compilers, and that's no way to learn unix! also, lately they've been having problems with disk failure. and that kinda sucks.
http://www.hobbiton.org
http://www.shellyeah.org (dunno if they give access to compilers)
http://www.spunge.org
http://www.rootshell.be
to name a few worth signing up for :)

Add these to the list
cyberspace.org ( I like it but no network tools except whois :( )
nether.net (is it dead?)
unix-shells.com (good)

Hi,
thanks for the reccommendations (sp?), but none of them had the features I need. if you know of one that has: telnet, finger, whois, ping, etc., that would be cool. the reason I need these is to take down spammers on Usenet and email spammers. I am *not* gonna take sites down...I'd just like to take some bad guys down. thanks if you understand what I'm doing and don't give me ----..hehe, ok, cya. I NEED those utils though...

I think "taking down spammers," as fun as it might be, still counts as harrassing people as far as these hosts are concerned. So... good luck. There are a few more free shell accounts out there... it's just hard to keep track because they go down or stop accepting new members all the time.
