Hi weeps :D
A hit is when an item is accessed on a webpage. Accessing a graphic on a webpage is a hit accessing some other graphic is a hit. Basically everytime a component on a page is accessed it is called a hit.
A page view is when a web page is viewed by a user. So the number a person views a page is called page views. More the number of pages on your website more the page views.
Some common terms in advertising.
CPC - Cost per click. Amount payed when a user clicks on ur banner.
CPA - Cost per accussition. Same as Cost per Lead (Am I right?). Basically if a user click on your banner and then goes to a website and registers for some service(free) it's called a lead.
CPM - Cost per thousand impressions. Amount payed when the banner has been showed a thousand times. M is roman for 1000.
And weeps search the board :)
