It seems as though I had just sent in my "application" to MekTek when they closed it for whatever :(

Is anyone hosted on it, and would it be worth the wait to get hosted on it?

Mektek should of been ready for lots of signups, it's their fault they're slow.

And whenever someone asks for help on looking for a free hosts with certain features, we give them the host that has them. f2s must have gotten alot of business of this site :)

I'd say. f2s has to be the most recommended free host here.

f2s has its ups and downs. But even when it's slow, it's still one of the best free hosts in terms of features and ads. Not the best, but certainly in the top ten.

Its certainly not the best when hosts like netcabins or gcsnet(?) come around, but when they die off f2s goes back to the top :) Best free host I ever used

They died and never came back... NC_Tom says he's been trying to bring it back but I wouldn't count on it.

Anyway, back to the original topic: Mektek.net is NOT slow for me - I don't know what the hell you are talking about, AlabamaMan. On my cable modem, I was able to download one of your site's 10 mb files in only 29 seconds.
