I put my vote on Win2000 (or NT). Win98 crashes more often than anything I've ever seen.. even Win95 I think.
I dual boot Win98 and Win2000... for the sole reason that StarCraft battle.net play doesn't work on Win2000 =P So I basically only boot to 98 when I need to play StarCraft... and what usually happens is, after I finish SCing and was doing just a little something else, it crashes. It just forces me to reboot back to Win2000 to do work.

Why is ME bundled with 95/98? I don't want to be grouped with ME.

I'm running Windows 2000 Pro... I've got Caldera OpenLinux and Windows 2000 Pro on my brothers machine so I can use to to test stuff without me having to reboot... hehehe
if you check out my webpage, I have a poll on there for what OS my visitors use... not many people have used it, though... check my sig for the link.

I triple boot Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000 Pro, and Windows XP build 2481. I only use Windows 2000 though. It has everything I need.
Even Starcraft works on it!
Starcraft maphacks however, don't.

BTW, Agum, what's your Battle.net username?

I'm using Win98. I put ME on, but I finally discovered that ME was the reason my computer was having all these problems; and since I got rid of it; things have been sweet.
I've got a copy of Win2k Pro... I want to put on; but I don't have Win2k drivers for my video card and all that stuff :(

95/98/Me are together and nt/2k are together because nt/2k are more networking oriented. (actually it is called windows 2000 only because they didn't want to call it NT5 and get compared to other version 5 systems.) 95/98/Me together because they are less network oriented. And of course XP hasn't been completely released yet. Except for some (un)lucky people.
You don't like my categories make your own poll!!!
There is another version in the test forum if you want them all seperated. I made that one to make sure I coul make a poll right.
I used the poll on your site whatevah, wher do you think I got the idea.

Windows XP on your computer = Getting half the speed you would get on Windows 2000.
Why? Because Windows XP uses too much processing power rendering all that aqua stuff

Meow: I agree. Out of all the Windows 9x OS's, I think Windows 95 is the best.
However the best Windows version out there is Windows 2000 :)

And I agree with you Coolin. :)
Does 2K have that horrid integration with IE? I'm planning some upgrading and I can't decide what OS to put on.

Yes it does.
But it isn't as bad in terms of stability as Windows 98. It's even more stable than 95! That's why I use it.

Yeah, I've heard it's more stable. I'm off checking if 98Lite is becoming 2kLite soon. :p

... Starcraft works by itself, but if you try to go on battle.net... it won't let you join any games because it'll say "latency is too high" and it'll always give you a 6 red no matter how many times you reconnect. =P At least that happens with everybody I know who has SC and Win2000.

Coolin ( and others), I learnt recently that MS actually recommend corporations that have 2K installed to NOT install XP but to wait for the next one. Neptune I think is it's working name.

July 28th, 2001, 14:33
LOL!
That just proves that XP is crap. I found out after I installed it ;)
BTW, I think the next one is called Blackcomb, not Neptune. Neptune had something to do with XP, perhaps it's interface before it was changed to Luna?
