bragging eh?
You too on Telia? I think Meow is also using their ADSL. Maybe you should setup a local game server or something, like I did for my frnds who are on the same cable network. :)

I'm just grateful I have an internet connection at all. I could sit around wishing for cable, god I'd love to download at 50kb/s or whatever, but at the end of the day I'm thankful - I don't know how I used to live without the internet.
Hmmmm....maybe since I got the internet I've been living less ;)

I am going to reduce my time on the internet dramatically, like today. The ADSL connection I have doesn't help that plan.
Hope you like the new connection.

Yeah, what company d99jahn? I got mine in 12 days. :D A friend of mine has been waiting 13-14 month for Kabelbolaget. They did the last installations in january and still haven't hit the switch. That's so bad.
For me the speed isn't the most important (but it's great ;)). It's the flat rate.

I tried to get ADSL from Telia first.... but after a few months of waiting I gave up. Today I finally got my ADSL modem from BoNet.
Actually I like their rules better than Telias, since they allow you to run servers :D However they do not spend much on support ;)

Yeah. I thought that you could get a broadband connection as a single person, without the whole house connecting, was new, so I didn't check around. Geez, I would have gotten one long ago if I had known. I think I can run a server on Telia, but not a public server. How much do you pay and what speed?

I got a cable connection fro @home.
We run three computers behind our router but they don't know that :Þ I plan on running an Apache webserver with my site on it too.

Oh, well, one could run a server on dial up. Wrong word, we should have said 'allowed'.:p

They're ok with home networking but provide almost no tech support for it since it can get way too complicated on the customer's end. But even so, I called @home tech support about some issues that I had with some of my PCs behind my router, and they seemed to know what the problem was and helped me out. Pretty nifty indeed..

I would like to cut down on my time online too, but it is hard when the connection is 28.8. it takes 25-30 seonds for a page to load.
which is faster ADSL or @Home?

What sort of server is not public? Mail servers? :)
How much do you pay and what speed?
I paied 1395:- to get started, then it´s 249:- /month.
I have 2,4 mbit download, and 0,75 upload, so it´s quite fast! :)

:rolleyes:Eeeeh! I meant like running a host! :p I think putting some pages up on a www server is OK. The TOS is a little cryptic. About the same price but you have better speed.

Guess I could learn a thing or two from you...so yeah...you can have maybe 1MB, email upload and no graphics, html/txt only. Button on frontpage. That sounds good to you?;)

which is faster ADSL or @Home? Depends where you live...
But I think ADSL may be faster for web surfing and cable is better suited for downloading...
