I am looking into purchacing some hosting and I am wondering if anyone has ever used HostGator before. I am wondering what cons there are, if any. I am planning on ordering the Baby plan, and it looks very good with all of that bandwidth! Anyone ever used them before?

I did get a test trial of their services way back when, very good stuff.

Alright, thanks! Another pro that I have found is that they offer live chat support. I think I may go with them!

Have you done a search at WebHostingTalk? If not, that's a good place to start. :)

I've used it, but never went even near the limits of the package. In fact I still have the old 20GB data transfer Baby plan. It's way more than I need anyway.
I am wondering what cons there are, if any.Not a real con, just a fact of life: $10 can only buy so much server resources (CPU and memory) usage. Depending on the type of site, 100GB of data transfer can translate into a high CPU and memory usage. I'm saying this as I see the site in your signature focuses on the usage/hosting of scripts, which as you surely know can "eat" a lot of CPU and memory.

Well,
Honestly not trying to bash HostGator. But with big hosts it seems to be a common problem with Support. Hosts like GoDaddy are getting overwhelmed with Tickets and not enough support staff. I find hosts that are so big they offer packages like 50GB/500GB for $4.95 are the ones you should watch out for. GoDaddy is a good domain register and I will NEVER use it for anything else. RegisterFly is also a good domain register (as well as SSL Cert register) But nothing else.
I have tried HostGator and to be honest I found there service to be one of the best I have seen from a big company. (Except for ModWest :P)
I say give it a go! :motorcycl
