Hi hi! ^-^

I was looking at valuablehosts.com and it looks like a really nice deal. I'm kinda new at this and very confused. What is root access and catch all e-mail? And do you know what they mean by custom 404 pages (like u can make a page for ur own 404?)?

Do you know how long they have been running and how dependable they are? ^^ I must sound really redundent and I'm so sorry about that. ^-^ Thanks so much for looking at this!

I signed up with valuablehost recently, and have been really pleased. Support is great, and you really get a lot of features. Not to mention it's one of the cheapest hosts out there. Root Access has something to do with manipulating the server. I could be (probably am ;)) wrong about that, but I've never really looked in to it. For catch all e-mail, I'll use an example. Say you set up an e-mail account like "admin@yourdomain.com" If someone sends a message to "admines@yourdomain.com" Now, instead of the e-mail coming back to them undeliverable, it would be automatically redirected to the address of your choice. Essentially, it "catches" misspelled e-mail addresses and sends them to the proper address. Custom 404 pages let you make your own error messages. Instead of a user seeing the generic 404 page (or any other error page) that came with their browser, they see one that you created. You can also install CGI scripts on these pages that will automatically e-mail you when someone gets one of these pages.

custom error pages (including 404) allow you to set up a certain page in which users visit when a file is not found on your server (404), or when the content is not for viewing (403), etc.

Hey hey, thanks a lot for clearing that up with me! ^^;; I was really confused. It sounds cool. I think I'll try them out and see how I do for a while. ^.^
