Can anyone give me a quick rundown on who are viewed as the best company offering co-branded Free Webspace please:

I am looking to offer free webspace and homepages to the 2000 members on our site.

Requirements:

15+ meg ds
50/50 banner deal
No puny bandwidth stipulations
Reasonable editor/fileuploader

So who would you reccomend?

The best one that I know of is http://www.communityarchitect.com.
The only thing I'm not sure about is the banner impressions part.

http://www.excelland.com allows you to offer unlimited space(yeah i know so don't say "there is no unlimited") under a sub domain of your own domain. http://www.tnwnetwork.com is an example, thats the one i use with excelland.

im not sure about the 50/50 though.

Portland has sever bandwidth limitations tho.
I think http://www.communityarchitect.com (former northern sky) will be your best choice, I think they'll accept you if you have 2000 members.

I believe back when Community Architect was NorthSky, they gave you 40% of the impressions but I'm not positive. Excelland only gives you 10% unless you have very high traffic, and the service is poor.

Something weird about excelland; the pages load very slowly usually, but on my 56k when downloading a zip file, I hit 5.4k/sec and in my area the average download would be around 3k/sec.

Excelland is based in Russia, so they probably don't have that great of a connection...

Well i am not having much luck:

What I really need is to be able to create a new subdomain

homepages.mysite.com

with users at homepages.mysite.com/username

Portland want one to sign over my dns to them- thats not going to happen.

Northsky accepted me but don't seem able (or willing) to do the setup I want.

Surely there are other providers in this field that can do what I need?

Excelland only offers 100MB to the users. Not unlimited space.

Oh, so they're pulling a "Xoom.com" on the user.

I suppose, their support is quick on responses though. Really nice people . But that doesn't make up for their server downtime and space. :D

I don't know, I've been nothing but happy with thier service and features.

When I first signed up:
Over a five day period I had about 5 issues, two my fault and three bugs in the system template.

I e-mailed them 7 times during that period and got immediate service each time. My problems, issues, and requests where taken care of immediately.

Since then about a month ago, I have been nothing but happy.
I check my site daily, and speed surprisingly has not been a problem. There have been no other issues.

One Note: One of there Templates has a HUGE background image in a table and it takes forever to load.
Maybe this is causing the slow speeds.
I changed the template so I don't have that problem.
Maybe other templates have similar problems.
