Just signed up for Homestead Personal myself just to make sure I didn't lose all my work just because I have more than one site.
All the branding is gone. They did keep their word.
And now you can also keep track of how many megabytes you are using total. Outside of that no major majors.

When I looked at the prices and features, Homestead didn't look to be any bargin. If you'll pay for hosting, then you might as well switch to one of the hosts recommended here. They'll probably cost you less and you'll get more features.

I don«t know why people use too much homestead. There are better hosts around there for free or paid.

I don't believe people do use too much homestead.
I haven't heard of any problems with that life of excess and blatant extravance on Homestead.
But I will tell you that I myself have been tempted at times to start two or three new sites a day.
But I try to keep it down to one site a day. So far so good.

i suggest you get real hosting. homestead sucks. you might as well sign up for hosting from some of the hosts around here or on webhostingtalk.com. sure you'll get more features that you won't need or even know how to use like Perl 5 or PHP 4 or Apache handlers, but you might learn how to use them someday and they'll come in handy. take my advice.
