$25? That has to be the dummest thing ever. Just ahveing the server in the DC would cost more than that per month. That guy is just after money. Do your self a favor Thorny, and go with a good host.

If you want to start hosting, I recommend you start on a non oversold reseller. Then as payments come in upgrade to a dedicated. To start selling, I would start small, customers come in slow. Gotta gain reputation first. Also don't go with the cheapest guy around, but don't go so expensive you can charge competitively without offering something special.

Is this what you meant advice wise? And of course the two servers I offered still stand. Of course we can come up with any other plan you need.

You sound more like a decent reseller to start. No reliable server at your price range... at least hard to find.

I think maybe you're living in the past. Bandwidth isn't as expensive as it used to be. I personally use many servers at The Planet and Verio, all have at least 1500GB bandwidth, and I pay usually less than $150 for that. Bandwidth isn't the cost generally, more the type of processor or RAM. I have some bandwidth intensive clients, and I know I am not being oversold when I use some of these resources.
