youd need a domain.. averaging at $8/year

and a script, say $40 but you may be able to get it for free.

advertising i'd say another $40+

and if you want an unique template that'd be $200+ but i expect you'd go for the cheaper option (no offense) $30-50, and of course there are free ones.

edit//

if you wanted, i could help you with most of these (with a low fee of course). I'm just a PM away.

T.M. I think unless the person is really serious about making a good business they most likely would go for the cheaper option unless they are rich, or have a paying job that they could make the money back that they spend.

thanks for the replies

o.k im in the u.k (south wales) i want the web site to have a local feel to it where if you want to buy somthing you jump in your car and you can pick it up down the road in 10 mins (nothing like e**y, so no scams are pulled)

i intend on making money from it by charging companies to advertise on the site and let private sellers sell for nothing, the money making will hopfully come with time when more ppl visit the site ect..

i dont want nothing to fancy just somthing that is easy for ppl to use and find what they want, may be a search facility and category lists of items
e.g home,garden,computers ect..

iv got 3 or 4 websites that i want to set up, but as i have said i dont have a clue how to or where to start. i can make a good html advert, but i dont even know how to upload it to a host yet?

im looking to spend what? $200 may be more for a good design, ill pay the hosting fees ect.. just need help uploading it as i dont have a clue.

i will be looking for someone to do more work for me as i want to set up a few more sites selling some things, and could send you more work if you can do what i want.

thanks

here buddy listen. get one of the free account and do some research online on web desing and hosting and all. then you should be able to do most of them on your own and save you money. it's better to know how to fish than to let someone fish for you.
P.S. sorry guys but i just thought he should try atleast. am the d.i.y kinda guy.
