View Full Version : Does ANYONE know how to do this?

For example, at a page like this: http://www.northernlightcasino.com/
How do you get those streaks of color to appear (see at the top...where the cards are, for example)? There is like a white line separating each streak. I don't mean those thick white lines. I mean, for example, on that "J" of the Jack of clovers, there are maybe 3 or 4 streaks passing through it.
You can see it here, too: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v309/8j8k9l5k/li.jpg
Is this done with some program? And if so, which one can do it?
Thanks so much.

My Guess is Photoshop or another expensive image editing program.

What program would you use?
I also read that GIMP would work for this, too. I downloaded GIMP, but I'm not sure what tool to use...?

yeah, its not really that hard, it is only hard when you don't have a clue, but once you know the basics, you're all set.

I'm guessing they're using some sort of gradient.... don't know though.

You have to create a pattern. After you create the pattern, go to the image you want the lines over. Create a new layer and fill it with the horizontal line pattern. Then play around with the mode and opacity until you get the look that you want. ;)

I think you should also visit retrotutorials.com for photoshop tutorials. It has nice tutorials for photoshop. :classic2:
