I personally haven't heard of them before, but I'm sure that if you do a search here, at WHT (http://www.webhostingtalk.com) and Sitepoint (http://www.sitepointforums.com) you will be able to find some feedback on them. :)

You could look at that in two ways: 1) They have no customers, or; 2) They have heaps of happy customers who don't have any need to complain.

Sometimes it is also risky if one has never heard anythng positive or negative of a host. It can mean they are new or they have no clients, as one fellow host puts it.

IN ANY CASE, due diligence is good and a must for any potential clients.

Do a WHOIS on them. That is one way to find out a lot about them.

That doesn't look good.

However their live chat pops up a live chat logo'd Steadfast Networks - which actually a pretty good provider.

http://steadfastnetworks.com/

Their live chat pops up the same window, orders redirect to steadfastnetworks. Hostaffect is directly selling steadfastnetworks packages. And the sites are both at the same datacenter.

So if you are going to buy, buy from steadfast.

thanks james i am already aware of that. if u read my previous post u will see that one thing i know about them is that they were purchased by steadfast in nov 2004 and it had problems before that. that scamming thread was created in september of 2004, before hostaffect was purchased by steadfast. thanks though :)
