when you use media encoder, you will get a link like mms://127.0.0.1 and then you can enter that for the URL for Sopcast.

I have had media encoder for like a cuple of months. But shouldnt it be like your ip address to show on theinternet becasue 127.0.0.1 means local host?

I set it so that only localhost can connect and connect to localhost, this will not use any bandwidth from Sopcast and therefore it will use all of your upload bandwidth to share with other people.
This is a basic structure of what I mean:
Media Encoder > SopCast > Peers
localhost > same pc > external connections
so Sopcast takes that one input from media encoder on the PC and shares it among other people as they keep on sharing to provide maximum quality :)

They will need sopcast in order to view it. The cool thing is that you will strem partly to some people and they will stream to other people and so on, so there will be less buffering.
You can create a public channel which will show up on the sopcast website, but I am not sure about the little window. Try searching in their forums to see if it is possible for you to call up the program and display a channel if the user has sopcast installed.

I think that sopcast buffers and then loads media player to view the movie or stream. It is like a portal to the other clients in terms of connectivity.
