My site (http://www.uselessthought.net) currently has about the most basic layout you could possibly imagine. Right now I want to make a new one but I never have any good ideas so I end up just putting together some random ideas.

What I want is someone to design an image of a layout design. This is by NO MEANS a final copy. But basic layout, as well and some of the colors you would expect to see on a mainly text file site. I need areas for navigation, links, recent files, as well as users online.

This would just be a basic sketch but it would give me an idea since all of mine suck. :)

it was originally made for someone else, but they got shut down, so you are more than welcome to use it as long as you keep a link to my site on it. :) let me know. i have one without the 3 grey boxes too. but that is the only working sample i have posted, and i dont feel like uploading the other one right now.

I appreciate the layout, but it is more of a corporate look when my site is no a business of any kind.

Anyone else have any ideas?

Why not use a CMS?

Why not use a CMS?

What does content mangagement have to do with this? I want a layout, besides, most content management systems out there are too expensive or they are just horrible altogether.

Not true, your just not looking in the right places. There are a lot of good cms's for free. Example mambo is really good :).

I wold use a CMS layout, but I want a more original design. Most CMS have layouts that look too corporate or what a business would use. Thanks for the suggestion, but I prefer a layout that is more to my own taste.

And I have had a lot of trouble from Mambo. Maybe it is the server I am on, or maybe it is I am too stupid to install it. But most CMS I have used have given me nothing but trouble. I have my own way to manage my content and all I need is a good design for the site.

Good suggestions, but a CMS is not the way for me. :)

Why was this moved into Ads and Offers?
