Hi,

I have had RealAudio web sites with Geocities and Fortunecity since 1997 with no untoward results. However, since December, though my sites are okay at FC, none of the RealAudio files will play! I have been searching for a good web host that will give me 50-100 MB space, allow files of up 1.5 MB in size, have FTP, and not nervously delete web pages that contain RM files that are not my own. I realize that the superb quality of MP3 files is a thorn in the sides of most providers, but the relatively inferior RM files should not be a concern. It has not, and still is not, an issue for FC or GC. I also have disabled downloading and copying of the files. However, the FC sites are useless and the best provider of them all, Geocities, offers only 15 MB. My Geocities sites have also been fantastic. They still work! To give you an idea, one of the FC sites I want to move is at:

http://marina.fortunecity.com/breakwater/332/

I also want to move non-English sites such as:

http://members.fortunecity.com/hinditunes/

Could someone please help me locate a provider? I would be most grateful. You may write me directly at: musiccollector@hotmail.com

Thanks a MILLION!
Harry

Copyright is a big issue you may find in finding a host. I would advise you to shell out $5-10/month (you should be able to find one) and avoid any future hassles with your audio files.

Finding a reliable (re: won't shut down in 2 weeks) free host is quite a challenge for your needs.

Thanks for the response.

Syd, since I don't make any money off this, that is something I have always been unwilling to do.:) I'd rather completely shut it down if I have to pay.

And, GateKeepa, thanks. I am signing up there. Well, worst comes to worst, I will stay with the VERY best of them all - Geocities, though they give only 15 MB.

Harry

most pay hosts wont give a crap about you hosting your audio files with them as long as their server is fully burstable
