Hello. I am a (more or less) soon-to-be-former member of deviantArt. Now, popular as it is, DA has always had questionable policies and attitudes. But I joined anyway. For a few wonderful months, all was well. But then, about a week ago, somthing happened. Something bad. The whole story can be read here (http://www.deviantart.com/view/27490390/) (for those not familiar with "Harry Potter", the Peter Pettigrew and Marietta Edgecombe mentioned are characters that turned out to be stool pigeons who ultimately caused a lot of trouble for several innocents).
As it states in my story, I need a new pic hosting service, preferably one that allows commenting and/or "favoriting" like DA did. And it has to be free, as I'm very wary of giving out financial/personal information online (nor do I really have that kind of money). And it needs to allow both GIFs and JPEGs (at least) LiveJournal's scrapbooking/image hosting service is only for paid accounts and Yahoo Photos only allow JPEGs, two things I wish I'd known before I signed up for either.
Aside from the aformentioned, I will gladly explore any suggestions provided.

I'm looking for a free image host. My HTML skills are not such that I can make a presentable website. And I'd prefer to host my images where feedback can be left on a board or something like that (i.e. something other than being e-mailed directly to me, thus clogging my mailbox/opening me up to more spam).

you may host images on http://giantupload.com , etc.
As far as that goes, you can get a free website at http://nocosthost.com and auto install Gallery via fantastico, very easy to do, fill in a few fields in your admin area, then your basicaly done, then you can upload your images and have people rate/comment them, they can register too.

there are many hosts out there, like takita said you can use his website to upload them but most file hosts do not have a board or a commentbox for each file =(

I think photobucket.com should do.

Look, i only came for advice, not to be part of a petty posting contest or whatever! Just because I probably won't ever be anywhere near a "regular" poster, do I deserve help/advice any less than someone who posts every hour on the hour?
Sorry, it's just annoying to me that a) here, you're apparently judged by the number of posts, and b) half the posts on this thread are realted to the number of times I've posted. Hardly relevant to my cause.

We already told you where to get your information, if you do not follow the thread it isn't our problem, there might be some side discussions but it isn't going to stop you from reading the answers we have given you. No hard feelings.

Geiogunn and brotherhewd if you cant help the guy/girl just leave them alone. What you are doing is not right. People come because they need help and if you keep counting their post they might not wana come back again. Posts do not mean Sht. Leave the person alone
