Hi,

rajhosting.com offered me hosting. The only problem is how to pay. He does not take bank trancefers :(. I asked him about money orders but they take time to reach Canada from Sri Lanka.

The only way is via paypal but I cannot find the name "Sri Lanka" in there list. What am I going to do. Is there away to get a paypal account? I tried to contact them and all I get is give us a call. WTF! We don't get free phone calls over here. And definetly not international calls.

Please Some one give advice to both of us to follow (rajhosting.com and me).

Also I don't know how to pay. Ok I can get a VISA credit card that only has $7 in it. but that I am not sure also.

Please Help
Thank you,
Chirantha

So close to getting my first paid host but yet soooo far! :(

paypal doesnt accept all countries over the world. If rajhosting accepts VISA, MASTER... through a merchant, you can consider to make a debit card. It's very easy to do now

Maybe he is trying to say, that he can spend only $7 a month using that Visa Card.

Ask him about e-gold? (If he does not have it, ask him whether he want to create one?)
I think e-gold is welcomed in any country.
Somehow it's just a bit complicated :)
But in my opinion, it's the fastest way. You can get e-gold by buying some egold with your rupee. I think some people in Sri Lanka receive rupee and then transfer their e-gold money to your account. Then you can send your hoster e-gold money that equals with your hosting fee.

Hope this help :)

Hi,

I think you should use Western Union because you can transfer very fast from your local bank to Canada. Normally it will takes a few hours to complete the transaction.

Thanks..

Yeah you'll need to look for another host that will accept your preferred method of payment.

I have seen many times the customer changes the host because of payment gateways and Chirantha you should look for the host that accept banktransfer.

You should choose a host for what you want, not let a host choose what they want. Customers are always the boss ^ ^

Why not try 2xhosting.net ? Do they not 'dedicate their server to your site' ?

Rajhosting as name suggests is from India, thats where I come from.
And you are from SriLanka.

Since Rajhosting is a paid host, he must be willing to provide proper contact details to receive payment and you can just get a demand draft or cheque prepared and send it thru speed post.

Talking in terms of currency and time it takes, I can say it won't cost much, may be 100Rs or less, otherwise go for Registered post, thats cheap and it should be with RajHosting within a week.

Otherway out is,

http://www.ikobo.com/

In case of ikobo, what can be done is you send money to RajHosting and RajHosting gets a Ikobo card which he can use at any ATM to withdraw funds.

I have not used this myself but tis lot better than paypal for many countries, beside sits instant money, like paypal would send checques in India and other countries except US, but using Ikobo, RajHosting goes to any ATM supported, and withdraws money without having to wait for cheques as in case of paypal.

Giving the gift of the iKard allows your friends and family members the ability to make purchases, withdraw cash, or receive money from anyone, anywhere in the world in less than 30 seconds. Money can be sent to any person with an email address instantly.

1. Sign Up for your iKobo account.

2. Add your recipient.

3. Send money using a credit or debit card.

4. Recipient receives an iKard - a reloadable VISA debit card.

5. VISA debit card works at over 890000 ATMs and 21 million merchants worldwide.

6. Then, each time you send money
the amount is added instantly to your recipient iKard.

Yet another method is ICICI Bank's MONEY2INDIA

https://m2inet.icicibank.co.in/m2iNet/m2iNetLoginForm.jsp

RajHosting may explore this option as its very useful for those who don't have credit card.

I think HDFC also has simialr optino for SriLanka.

I have never been in such position, so i can't stand by any of the methods but doing some search has brouht abt these optinos.

Lets just give him solution to his problem rather than promoting other hosts or pushing hi mto consider his chocie. I am sure he must have done good search before planning to go paid with host he has choosen.

These are cheaper: http://www.getmygreen.com/

If you can get one. I think the Visa ones cost $15 to activate, and aren't rechargable (not sure about that).
