1) if you haven't uploaded an index file yet, do so now and chmod it to 755/744/777

or

2) chmod the directory to something like 744. it seems as if it was chmodded to 700

try getting CuteFTP and use that instead of WS_FTP. Set the permissions to:

Owner: Read Write Execute
Group: Read Execute (or just Execute)
Other: Read Execute (or just Execute)
