Why don't you just use http://web2ftp.com
You can do all of that over there and you don't have to install anything on your server/hosting account.
Just need to know your ftp username/password

I bet most of those are pretty hard to install and buggy also.
I tried installing a few open source file managers off of sourceforge.net before and I ran in to installation problems. And trying to get support off of sourceforge is like trying get unemployment in the States. lol
I found one that was easy to install and use, but I'm not sure where I put the link? ..let me look

OK ...here is the only one I could ever get to work and it is nice and simple, but it doesn't allow you to move, or rename files. Only upload, overwrite, delete.
Demo Here: http://regretless.com/scripts/ex/dodoupload/
(user: demo pass: test)

Would be perfect for someone who wanted to be a free image host.

Didn't the Invision Team write up an Open Source File Manager? I remember seeing one and thinking it was pretty nice.
I'll google it for you.
Eh, I see it was discontinued. http://www.hotscripts.com/Detailed/11817.html I'd look for it if I were you, I remember it being pretty good.
