There are a group of people moving to the use because they claim they are persecuted in canada because of their religious beliefs. They believe in beating thier kids.

It was in ontario. Their kids got taken into foster care because they were being beaten a little too much. The one family got their children back, and is making a big fuss of it.

i live about 1 hour away from where those ppl from the church of god whos children was taken from them live. its on the news almost everyday because nothing happens here. They're like Omish(sp?) or menonites or something like that. right now the mothers and children are in the states until they can come back without fear of their children being taken away. i guess spanking is ok as a last resort but to show children the way to correct someones behaviour is through hitting i think is wrong.

as for the ppl who wanna kill everyone, i find that almost funny. whats the point. you wanna save the earth by killing everyone. it kind of defeats the purpose.

If i were in their shoes i would feel uncomfortable too. Being the headline news because of your beliefs, isnt really persecution as the law sees it, but it could be considered harrassment

These people are partly right. Humans have caused massive destruction of the biosphere. I remember reading or i think it was a dialouge in a movie.

A parent hitting a child is there way of saying, "I have no idea how to control my child". Hitting your child will only make the matter worse. If you kid scribles ---- all over the walls in crayon, you don't beat it. You take the crayons away, and firmly tell the kid what he did wrong. Then send the kid to its room, or make him/her stand in a corner for an hour. But if you beat it, your only saying its ok to hit people. So if the kid finds his lil girl friend ( lets just say for arguments sake) kissing another boy in the playground. If you spank your kid, your teaching it to approach the situation by Hitting the other boy. If you take the other approach, maybe your kid will approach both parties and talk it out and say good bye. Thats what I think anyways. Violence is bad, not matter what sex, race or age.
