I've tried a number of affiliate programs on the Internet, and they all seem to suck, especially those set up by web hosts. I was with LiquidWeb.com for a while and you would not believe what I had to go through just to get a single referral put on there simply because I referred them word of mouth.
They even have a box: "If you referred a person by word-of-mouth, please enter their domain/username here for credit: " and I did that. After about two months, the referred person received two e-mails asking the same question - if I had referred them, I had called them at least 3 times and several times they assured me it "was done." The endless e-mails still give my fingers nightmares.
Moral of the story is: don't try to make any kind of money off of Internet services. They're out there to collect your e-mail address and send you spam, not money.
