I've had a reseller account with them for a few weeks now. and other than the slight 5 min downtimes once every week, this is my first major problem. There whole webserver is down it seems. I cannot get onto there site or mine.

It's been down for well over 6 hours now. And i'm getting pissed. Does anyone have any news on them or can anyone from Stacked Tech comment on the downtime?

Thanks,
MovingObject

Well... after an 8 hour downtime (and still counting) and no reponce from anyone at stackedtech it looks like i may have to move :S I've already lost 2 potentual customers and a customer on my high end hosting plan is requesting a refund.

And all this has happened twice now... I moved to stackedtech to avoid these downtimes and no responce from there support department, but it seems i was fooled...

You probably need a new provider for a fresh start.

EDIT: My mistake, it's a reseller account.

That's just horrible. As a reference point, DNSstuff.com only works for the sake of the NIC being on.... services are probably off. If no one is contacting you and you have no way of knowing whats going on, I suggest moving forward in life.

**Edit... it seems Apache is down, perhaps others... but you DO indeed have access to http://stackedtech.com:2086

Thanks craig. But the fact that it took them 14 hours to sort it out scares me.

UPDATE:

This issue is server flooded with SYN ACK packets per port 80 (httpd), this is inbound attacks. At the moment we have httpd port 80 stopped so apache is down even though the server is up (you can access cPanel & WHM). I now have 2 tecs on this for the owner. Please note, am not sure how long it will take but I will update you. Also can you please stop IM'ing me, am not the owner, I just sell the server to the owner, you will need to contact stackedtec if you have any questions.

I've been through this guys, it's HELL to say the least, it can take hours just to determine that it's an attack, you first have to get in the box.

You're in good hands if Craig is watching over it. Just remember the owner is Stackedtech and Craig is the server host.

I've been there too it's not fun. Craig if you need any assistance from me or any Charger Technologies Rep, let me know, we'll help you out.

Any idears on when the http port will be up and running? because if it's a simple http flooding problem you should just ban the ip and restart the service. Im asking here because no one from stackedtech is responding to my MSN messages or emails.

Hi

Its not as simple as that.

Our server has been "dosed"
It is under full re-construction. Sorry for the downtime. We may offer some
discount of next months payment.

Thanks,
AlexWell... They changed there story 3 times now... But at least this is something. Webservers are back online... but the SQL servers are not.

EDIT: My reply

Thanks for the info. But an 18 hour+ downtime is really bad. I can't belive this problem was not sorted sooner. I joined stackedtech because you said you had the latest DoS protection (as many of my former hosts went down due to this kind of occurance) if they can DoS your site like this once, they can do it again.

As an 18+ downtime puts your current monthly uptime to 92% (and don't give me your uptime page, that checks by pinging your server, and your servers IP was active all the way though. So it's useless) i will be expecting a reduction on next months payment, or totaly free all together. It is unacceptable that it took this long.

*my name*

I know Stacked Tech's owner very well and I can tell you that he is wokring as hard as he can to get this problem fixed. I too have a website on this server that has been down, but I think everyone should ride out the storm and I am sure that the server wil be up shortly.
