1.)Yes you can use images in your sig;
2.)Posting is not required; In fact you don't have to register at the forums at all.
3.)If you have an advanced account you may put the ad code for the text link wherever you want on the page. Right, left, top, bottom. Does not matter.

Not really sure why you posted this? Do you have a question to go along with it?
And just to update on the downtime. Since we've implemented our lottery system we have not had any downtime. It is correct that we get MANY signups per day and we were having trouble keeping up.

No ads are not forced, in the Advanced and Corporate Plan, we require ads, but they're user placed. You have a week since the time you get accepted to have them up. Static Plan is Ad-free
