Finally a unique question :)
I got tired of my usual usernames, and remembering Beowulf from school, and my dislike for it, i composed a name.

I made up this name a few years ago when playing Lords of the Realm II (by Sierra) on my (un)trusty 486 Packard Bell w/ Win3.1. It's a medival sort of game, and you get to name yourself. So naturally, I would want to think up of some medival name... I pondered for days. Then one night, I finally came up with the name "Exavier". (Actually, I first thought of Xavier, but didn't like it, so I added the e because it would still sound the same) Then after a few days, I thought that maybe by adding a letter to the front it would sound better, so I ended up with "Lexavier". But I wasn't going to use a medival-sounding name online, so I simply took the first three letters and used it.
Long story, huh? ;)

99 is the year I started
Jan is my first name
H is the first letter of my last name.
Simple enough :D

August 3rd, 2001, 10:59
I've been Rocker Grrl since about '94ish.
I'm a singer, songwriter and guitarist - and I was always in a band (until recently when I moved to Florida in June). My friends started calling me that... and it just stayed that way.
LeX

Is it pronounced "rocker girl" or "rocker grrr-oh"?
bigperm
August 3rd, 2001, 11:37
I hang out with some people in a different town than where I grew up, and they can't call me bigperm... because one of them is called 'big perv' and that would cause mass confusion during drunken debates... so they call me 'tank'. Why? No idea.
Variations I have heard:
Bigsperm
Bigworm
The Perminator
permes
and what most of my friends call me 'perm'
Also:
Tanklin D Roosevelt (don't ask)

Hoth
August 5th, 2001, 07:02
At most forums I'm uncreative and just use my first name. The first time I had to get creative with a username for a message board was at theforce.net, and every username I could think of was taken there (since they have about 40,000 members). So, for something Star Wars related, I eventually tried the name of an important planet in the greatest film ever made, and found that was available. Since then I've used it on a few other forums like this one, since it's sure to be available anywhere. (For some reason most people don't like to name themselves after planets.)

Think about it this way... people don't like to name themselves after gods.

August 6th, 2001, 21:44
You're named after a god?
Docevl
August 7th, 2001, 15:52
Well, after I saw Austin Powers (the first one), I went on AOL and changed my username to docevl, for Doctor Evil in the movie. I have not changed it every since. At every message board, chatroom I always use docevl.

I tried a google search and it turns out I am. ;) I guess George Lucas decided to continue to pattern of naming planets after gods.
From http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0197623.html :
Hoth (Hoder, Hodur): Blind god of night and darkness; slayer of Balder at instigation of Loki.
Balder is "God of light, spring, peace, joy." So, I have the honor of being the slayer of light, spring, peace and joy. :D
<edit>
At another site I see it says of Hoth "misled by Loki he kills Balder by throwing a bough of mistletoe." Sounds like a bit of a strange way to kill someone.

Homeygwiz
August 9th, 2001, 16:53
Basically my username Homeygwiz - came from mocking rappers and rap music by calling myself jokingly HOMEY GEE WIZ. It stuck in High School. I thought it was kinda cool and used that Homeygwiz for my username in everything that I can.
P.S. I actually like rap... Just think its funny that all Rappers go by a street name.
