Alright I just noticed a thread that got me thinking eeeeek. This is to save you "Kiddie Hosts". If this is in the wrong thread move it please. But anyways back to the topic at hand, Kiddie hosts.

Kiddie hosts are hosts that are well... kids! Kids that aren't meant to be starting a web hosting company. No one is really meant to do this until you are either A) In college taking a degree and getting something like your Cisco certificate, or B) People who already have been to College or University and want to start a new business.

Not to sound mean but I too was there. I was about 13, 14 and I wanted to make money! I was just starting to learn HTML and I wanted my own business. You know how kids want to have a lot of money to spend on junk. If you are this person that I am describing STOP. Don't attempt to do a business. When someone finds out your age they are going to move away from your business right away and demand their money back. They have the right to do so. No one trusts little kids, pre-teens, early teenagers with businesses like this. Even with someone at my age, not going to mention it's a bit iffy but they'll do it with caution.

To avoid stress, bad grades, and failure if you still want to do this in about 10 years, I say go for it! But do not I REPEAT Do not host from your house and charge like a normal host.

A) Your ISP most likely will not allow you to do this. (READ THE TOS)
B) It takes tons of Bandwidth which most ISPs give a limit at around 20-30 gb/month.

My advice? Just maybe do support for another company that is already established if they hire you. Or ask people to show you the ropes of managing servers and what not.

To wrap this up nicely, let kids be kids and not get in to the business world right away. You are too immature to handle this.

Couldn't agree more. But wont this just feed them to try and prove you wrong? (They can't (prove you wrong that is)... but unfortunaly they can try...)

Yes and no, but I'm just letting them know they ARE going to fail, and some will be smart and follow my suggestions.

They'd still use Mum & Dad's account :(

Anyone I discuss with, I suggest that they actually work with their parents and come up with a basic business plan, getting advise and guidance from their parents, then create a proper business that their parents can sign over to them when they get to 18.

I think I know which thread u got the idea from, the only negative things I can think up of is that they are not able to take up any responibilies for it and also doesnt have the technical skill
