How large (in kilobytes) can avatars be? As I'm getting nearer to avatar status I've been busy at work on one, and I've settled on one I like, but I need to know how much to compress it.

I've also gone back on my word ("...I will never have a signature...") and added a signature.

Anyway, 6000 bytes? I was hoping for at least 10k. Oh well, I can make it under 6000b, it will just have to be resized.

Hmm... They seemed to increase the limit from 50x50 to 65x65...
They kept the file size the same though :)
Page load times will be just fine :)

Not if it's 6K now. Was 5K earlier. I think this size is too big. Doesn't look good on 1024*78. Must be hideous at lower res than that.

I bet that screen is a little too thin for your tastes?
No wonder you hate it.

Anyway... I'm on 800x600 and I think the 65x65 isn't too bad.
But then again, it's just your personal preference.

Could use larger desktop. 17" now. Don't want smaller pixels. 21" + ?res = same pixel size as now. :)
