i like zoneedits functions

they seem to be good but its not possible to forward

domain.com or www.domain.com to a website is it?

i have my site on a free host like

http://me.freehost.com and i have got no set IP address for it to forward to

so it's not possible in any way to let domain.com and www.domain.com to forward to that?

you can use zoneedit in conjunction with a free redirection service such as http://jwdx.com or http://wzr.net to direct the domain to your free webspace account.

Why bother with all that other stuff. I have a bunch of domains over at zoneedit, and they all redirect elsewhere. You use their web forward option.

Works fine and is easy to setup with zoneedit's webform.

i thought with zoneedit

domain.com and www.domain.com HAVE to forward to an IP addess?

An A record needs an IP address. Zoneedit's Web Forward feature forwards to any URL.

zoneedit's webforward function doesn't work for domain.com and www.domain.com though does it?

www.skirts.com.ru and/or skirts.com.ru both go to a directory on one of my other hosts.

www.venus.net.kg and.or venus.net.kg both go to a directory on one of my other hosts.

www.roadrunner.com.ru and/or roadrunner.com.ru both go to a directory on one of my other hosts....

and so on... about a dozen all told go different places. All using zoneedit's web forwarding.

SWEET!

thanks

thats exactly what i wanted to know

well one last question

pathfowarding is included in the cloaking option right?

as in

www.domain.com is pointed to members.freehost.com/website/

and www.domain.com/directory/image.jpg would be members.freehost.com/website/directory/image.jpg

?

would it be correct to assume that?

meaning zoneedit has every function mydns/mydomain offers

anyone able to point out what the differences in the the two services offered are apart from 5 limit in domain etc.

thanks

That is the default setting.

But zoneedit doesn't allow meta-tags with cloaking for free, while mydomain does.

thanks for pointing that one out Albert!

mydomain's services are just so attractive!

But zonedit has unlimited email-adresses, but with a 5x200MB limit.
