I just signed up, and got the name I wanted. They don't have the blank space at the bottom like --------. Also -------- had tons of ads, so I'm assuming they are going out of buisness soon. I like the speed of my server plus the redirection. It's pretty good. I wish I had gotten it and boo.bz though. Thanks for the info. :biggrin2:

Yes, -------- are now implementing ads, but I'm pretty sure they'll still be around for a while.

when you say unlimited subdomains, do you mean unlimited?

Could I link to images or AVI files w/a subdomain.myusername.glo.bz? or is there a way to link to them with myname.glo.bz/file.gif,jpg,avi ?

Thanks
TJ

TJ, not that i know of. But you can register a subdomain of your subdomain to link it to an image.

I really like this redirection service, it's the best.
I don't like --------, their server is at times slow and requires an ad.

but in my case the link goes to a "http://bla.bla.bom/private/index.htm where as the private directory gives a 403 unless you have the index.htm or wahtever itis.htm, therefore if I linked to http://myname.glo.bz/blabla.avi would it go to http://bla.bla.com/private/blabla.avi or would it do something weird like bla.bla.com/private/index.htm/blabla.avi and confuse the browser?

I think cjb and spaceports are on the same server at terrabyte.
Terrabyte is pretty fast and reliable. So I don't think cjb could be slow.

if you put host.com/you/index.htm in there, it will go to host.com/you/index.htm/blah/file.avi

but that would be your fault. there's really no need to put "index.htm" in there, since it's already read as the default file by the server. and it's not like a flaw in the path-forwarding, it will work like that wherever you go.

when I try to modify my redirection at glo.bz I get this..

Error with

The settings file (settings.dat) has not been found on the location /usr/local/apache/vhosts/www.wzr.net/htdocs/z7c98x7zc9x78czx7cxz98c79zx9zx7c98xz79cz987/datafiles/settings.dat

now now, signup for g4r redirection
and you can be able to do that
but it does not work for some file names
you can playaround
but remember with g4r.net it looks like real hosting, not like that -------- or anything redirection with framesets

I dunno, maybe you live close to their server location or something.

i was actually going to do something like that, but it eats up a load of bandwidth [has to load images, etc, through your server, which also slows it down].
